Government urged to release bloggers

SEAPA joined the Media Legal Defence Initiative (MLDI) and seven other human rights organizations in calling on the Vietnamese government in calling for the release of five bloggers arbitrarily detained for more than seven months for under Article 79 of Vietnam’s Penal Code. None of the detainees have been given access to legal counsel and have been held incomunicado since their arrest. Two of them have not been allowed to be visited by family members.
