Concept

The regional conference will target up to 100 people from various groups with a focus on Asia, to discuss the following issues: Is there a real divide between the “old” media and the online media? Is the media responsible for spreading and even inciting hatred? How are surveillance practices impacting on citizens’ and media rights and freedoms? It is expected to generate debates and surface perspectives from the region about media and the internet. Participants will come from the media, media NGOs/associations, internet rights activists, academics and lawyers from Asia.
